[-o< If I remove the Catalatic convertor what do i do with the O2 sensor & false readings to the Computor? the air pump that is pumping air into the exhaust manifolds, I Believe. can I remove it trash it or will I have a over heating issue with the valves? Headers ? Shorties ?or long tube? if I can find them, shorties seem to be the most advailable?? 3 inch pipes to the rear with an equalizer tube between the two sides? Nessarry or not? :-B

My advice would be to use an aftermarket cat, and not to run without one if you want to remain street-legal. Shorty headers, and a single muffler like the Flowmaster 40. I ran dual outs to thte right-rear tire from there, but feel like I would have a bit more sound and power with a single exit. JSM84

Even though I run without cat's I don't recomend it. I have a shop that owes me some work for helping them out at the wearhouse and they'll do my exhaust when I get the stuff. I'll be doing dual highflow cats but I don't think I'll do mufflers but my pipes will dump right before the rear bumper like the fox body mustangs did, the ones where you have to look to see them... either that or I'll do 90 degree pipes behind both tires. Back to the point, if you're so hard up on not wanting to run cats, Summit racing has whats called a mil eleminator which goes between the connectors of the o2 sensor. The round 4 prong they have for the Mustang is the one you'll need to get but they come in sets of 2 for I believe $80 or so. On that note, a highflow cat runs around $34 and up if anyone can vouch on that, it's been a while since I've looked at them. Well, keep on keepin' on!

just went thru and redid my entire exhaust from motor to rear end, depending on where you live need to have cat or cats in place for emissions, on mine did shorty headers by summit racing built by pace setter Part#SUM-G9035, Magna flow hiflow cat system with new y-pipe Part#MPE-93307 and a dyna max cat back system WLK-17410. in the cat kit it will take you from 2) 2 way cats to 1)hi flow 3 way cat 2 1/4 tubing all mantrel bent with built in 02 **** and 1 5/8 balance tube built right in. got me an extra 29ft ibs of torque at 34 horse at the rear end. all parts bought thru summit racing 18002303030

To answer your original questions:

1. O2 sensor will actually mount on the pipe (not the header) by means of a "****" that they weld into the pipe at a muffler shop.

2. The air tube on mine was just tacked to the side of the pipe on the passenger side. It's not plugged up or anything, just tacked...I'm not certain why.

3. No crossover pipe is necessary on a dual exhaust, because originally I don't think there was one to begin with. Mine sure doesn't have one now, and runs fine.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH ! that should solve the issue of the cat. I live in SD we dont have all the restrictions that others have in other parts of the country.

ONE more Question The air pump is it nessarry or is it just a polution control device? Still trying to achieve more power better MPG at a low budget.................
