A/C-Heater Unit Troubleshooting

Hey guys, this is my first post on this forum.  Just bought a 1990 Bronco Eddie Bauer Edition about 2 weeks ago and I'm attempting to try and fix as many things myself as I can.  Today I removed both headlight assemblies (some bozo had melted the housing on both of them), luckily found 2 at a salvage yard off a '91 F-150, and reassembled them.  I know this doesn't sound like a big deal but for me it was the most work I've ever done on a vehicle and I'm 31.  Tomorrow I hope to remove the door panel and troubleshoot my driver's side window motor.  Youtube and Chilton has been my best friend so far.  The next thing on my list to look into is the a/c-heater unit.  Absolutely nothing happens when I flip the levers.  No airflow at all.  I would assume the first thing I need to start with is checking to see if the panel actually works?  Do yall agree?  If you had a air unit that wasn't doing anything when you flipped the lever, where would you start?  Am I over my head?  The radio is not working either and there's a couple wires disconnected.  I'm hoping you can see the wires in the pic attached.  Let me know if you need anymore info. 

Remember, I'm mechanic ignorant so try to go easy...

For no airflow

EVTM includes Component Location Views, troubleshooting, wiring diagrams, etc.

Slow scrolling. Find page # of item desired in contents, then flip screen flip down like spinning a bearing then stopping periodically to see what page you are on.

AC/Heater begins on page 53-1.

See page 53-4 for Heater troubleshooting "blower doesn't work"

Check fuse #9, after that you will need to check wires according to Wiring diagram on page 54-3. Just take time.

See page 54-6 for Manual AC-Heater troubleshooting; "blower doesn't run in any position" will post screenshot of the page in my next post.

At the blower resistor pack, check for Leaf & Debris Build-Up Location; pics in a 90

Make notes on whatever you need clarification on to troubleshoot.

Do you have a multimeter or 12 volt test lamp?

When testing for continuity, you may need to remove fuse #9.

Take screen shot of the wiring diagram & any other page where you need advice.
I am not here in evenings, but others can help.

Yo Johnathon, 

Sonetimes, a message comes up when opening the EVTM.   I just wait a minute then open it again.  Think its a Google or high web traffic issue.

Look through the 90 EVTM I gave you in your HVAC post.   Introduction to electical troubleshooting is in first few pages.
