I would suggest, doing a tune up. Replace the spark plugs, the distibutor cap and rotor. Another thing you could do is change the airfilter and replace it with a K&N or a Fram AirHog style filter. It might make a huge difference in gas mileage but maybe improve it 1-2 mpg.
Does you 95 Bronco have automatic hubs? While it wont really improve your gas mileage, it will help with making sure your vehicle is in 4WD when you want it to be. Im swaping out my Auto Hubs on my 96 Bronco, today. If they are Auto Hubs, with the 3 ***** caps you need to get the spindle nut kit to do the swap.
Far as tires go, I suggest that you go with the BFG Mud Terrian the 31X10.5R15 seem to be a good fit on the Broncos. That is the tire I ran with my 81 Bronco, I now run the BFG All Terrians on my 96, only because I do wheel it a whole lot, and most my 4WD use is on the beach were im just driving out to do some fishing.
If you looking for a good place to do some wheeling in a stock rig, get over to the Sand Dunes, you should be able to have a pretty good time with a stock rig, just air down those tires, bring a shovel, have a good tow strap, and another buddy with a truck so you can pull each other out if you need to. Learning how to drive out in the sand in my opinion is a good place were to learn about using your throttle, using momentium and how to use your gears. Plus most of it is in the wide open so you dont have to worry about smacking a tree or rock with a part of the body.
A good book ive read about Four Wheeling is, the "4-Wheelers Bible" by Jim Allen. He covers alot of topics and gives some good advise and information. I would suggest getting some recovery equipment, such as a couple good tow straps with the loop ends, I would get one tow stap with hook ends just is case you need something like that. I also suggest some the U and pin style shakles to hook the loop straps up with. Also a high lift or handyman jack and learn how to use is safely, some 3/8" proof coil chain to use with the handyman or high lift for certain circumstances, you maybe need like 12' or so. A peice of ply wood like 12"X12" for the high lift in soft ground. And 1 or 2 come alongs. In case you need to pull your self off of something. Also a small folding shovel to dig if you need to.
You can find most of that stuff at Bi-mart or Kneckts ( im from the North West my self).
Also repack the wheel berrings, grease your u-joints and check the front and rear ends add or replace the gear oil if nessasary, and if it s a manual check the tranny and fill it if needed. Also do the same for the transfer case. If is an auto check the ATF and replace if nessasary and change the filter.
Depending were your at if its Oregon or Washington. Check out The Tillamook National Forrest, The Trask River Basin, Shotgun Creek Receration Area. Ive also had fun up around the Willamette Pass and Cresent area with a stock truck. Have fun and stay safe.
