i have a 94 bronco and the abs light stays on no matter what if tried disconnecting the battery and the light still stays on from the time i turn the ignition to the on posistion and also i changed the abs module from my parts bronco also put in an new speed sensor in the rear diff and that didnt work checked fuses and relays havent checked abs harness yet oh but to top it all off i think i have anothier issuse going on i have hard shifting sometimes shifts all the way to fourth gear also the brake or boo switch that tells the transmission the brakes are applied isnt work propery also the engine isnt getting the mpgs it should normally i get about 14-15 now im getting 12mpg and this moring it was about 20 degrees its getting colder here in upstate ny anyways i turned the blower motor on full and the window defroster on and the headlights and the voltage gauge on the truck went erricatic so i belive it to be the bad diode in the alternator do you think that i have two seprate problems or just one big one i personally think its two diffrent problems the shifting issues and such happened after the abs light came on like a couple months after i started the shifting problems im just finally ready to get to the bottom of my issues also i did read the thread http://broncozone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18925

oh not that i will help or anything but my bronco is an eddie bauer 351w with an e4od trans

Get a Volt Meter. and a floor jack. there are 2 front abs sensors and 1 rear abs sensor on the rear pumpkin. jack up one of the sides in the front of your bronco individually and unhook the abs sensor. attach the volt meter to the 2 wires coming out of the abs sensor. there is a small rubber boot at the base of the abs sensor plug. keep in mind you are only unhooking the connection on the abs sensor you are leaving the sensor in. once you have it unhooked and the volt metere attached to the wires jack that wheel up and spin in, if its working correctly it should be reading voltage the faster you spin the tire. if it is faulty. it will not read any volts. do the same with the other side of the front of your bronco and the rear axle. this may not fix your problem but at least it will rule out for ABS sensors. GOOD LUCK MAN!!

yo C,

that's good, but the 4wabs test goes much further to pin-point the trouble area

4WABS Self Test & Connector Diagram, Component Locations, DTCs, 93-96; USE THIS PROCESS! "...The 4WABS TEST Connector is red; located at the left-hand side (driver's side) of the engine compartment and marked ANTI-LOCK TEST; Light Flash Technique 1. Note: If 12V test light is not available, the amber ABS warning light also flashes during this test. Locate test connector in the engine compartment and install 12V test light between Pins C and E. 2. With the ignition off, jumper Pin E to B. 3. Turn key to RUN position. 4. Remove jumper between Pins E and B after 5 seconds. 5. Count light flashes of test light or amber ABS warning light..." read more; miesk5 Note; for all Resistance tests, battery needs to be disconnected; remove Negative cable at battery

4WABS Components

Light Flash Technique

5. Count light flashes of test light or amber ABS warning light.

Manually Clearing Diagnostic Codes: All diagnostic trouble codes must be output, all concerns corrected (anti-lock light off) and vehicle driven about 40 km/h (25 mph) before diagnostic trouble codes will be erased.

Note: Do not raise vehicle on hoist and accelerate to 40 km/h (25 mph) to simulate driving the vehicle. Erroneous sensor codes will be set.

Automatic Memory Erasing: A diagnostic trouble code will be automatically erased if no system concerns occur for 50 ignition cycles.

The front inlet valves should read 5-8 Ohms each; all other valves should read 3-6 Ohms each. Sensors should read 800-1400 Ohms across the pins, and more than 10 Ohms from the metal shell to either pin. The pump motor sensor should be 5-40 Ohms. The acceleration sensor is a group of switches which should be closed when the truck is stationary & level. When the sensor is tilted ~1" up in the rear, pins 2-3 should go open; when tilted ~1.5" up in the front, pins 1-3 should go open.
