Are there any real significant differences between the late model bronco frames and the earlier 80-86 frames or is it just the body styles that are different?

Yes the frames are different but only the very front . the 80 to 91 have the regualr frame where the bumper bolts to the frame horn straight in and on top and the frame is still channel . On the 92 to 96 style they went with a frame style that was supposed to absorb more impact in a crash it kinda looks like an acordian the frame is boxed in kinda sqare looking and the bumper mounts to a piece of angle iron that is welded to the inside of the frame on each side.
