Will a 1991 tailgate fit a 1986 Bronco?

Also, how different is the wiring harness inside. My tailgate wiring is shot and I can get this whole tailgate complete for cheap...

What ya think?

Yes it will, I just put a 92 on my 83. By the way, watch out for that torsion bar. Remove the bracket that holds it to the right 1/4 panel with the tail gate just barely open or it will hurt you. I gave the same warning to the guy that took mine off a wreck, he ignored my warning, he limped for several days and he may not have any more kids either  .

Good luck,

:D/

Thanks! I found one that a guy is pulling and basically delivering to me for $20!

It has some rust on it but I don't think it is as bad as mine. Plus my wiring is all cut up inside (I guess somebody thought they were fixing it).

Plus it has the glass and what not...

Just wasn't sure if it would work.

Well you can't beat that if it is in good shape. The wiring harness alone is over $100.00 and a tail gate shell will run you between $750 and $1100 depending on where you get it and if it is OEM spec or not. If you spend some time on the rust before installing it you will get more time out of it. I completely disassembled mine, cleaned up any suspect areas, sealed all seams with POR 15 plus coated the inside with POR15 and then with undercoat.

Good luck,

That's a good idea... Basically treat it like I would an old motorcycle gas tank!

Like I said... my wiring is cut up and I can see through the bottom. Plus there is a suspicious chrome accent piece on the bottom of the tailgate (Hiding rust I am sure...)

Thanks for your help.

Did you sell your rims?

Not yet, waiting for a reply from another member that said they want them. I'm in no big hurry, just dumping stuff I don't intend to use any more. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I put stuff here before moving them to eBay.

I ended buying a set of those steel ones another guy had listed...

Any idea if you can still buy ones like yours?

I liked them, but would want 5 so I could have a matching spare...
