I need to know the proper terminology for the rail resevoir (vacuum bowl?). I know there is a filter in it but when I go to the local parts stores AZone, AdvAuto and O'Riellys no one there knows the name for it so can't find it on thier computers. If someone could send me a url: or link so that I could order one or at least help me on the proper name i'll change it. Its the only unit in the fuel system I haven't replaced yet and would like to get it. I'm trouble shooting the famous "stutter" and want to insure clean fuel, fire and electric to knock out things that go bump in the night.

You mean to say the reservoir doesn't do anything? other than bypass unused fuel back to the tank? and if its not leaking I shouldn't touch it? And why would I want to buy a filter just to get an "o" ring? Can't I just get the "o"ring? I have heard that there is a filter in there and it should be changed, does that mean the factory didn't intall on and PO's have added a filter to it?

Oh, I had the 3 previous parts stores to look up "fuel reservoir" and nothing comes up....what he heck is really the name of this thing?

Thanks for the info, i'll check out yer bronco........

Ok, thanks....I'll leave it alone untill I get my FPR vacuum tested, was going to do it tonight but its raining cats and dogs out there! I'm trouble shooting whats seems to be a "miss" or "stutter", i've replaced both pumps, inline filter and i'm up to the FPR. Just trying to make sure its getting good fuel and power. On power side i've replaced fuel press. relay, eec relay, ICU, plugs, wires , rotor and cap. Next i'm doing the vacuum on te EGR and FPR to make sure its good, have already ohmed and volt checked EGR, Throttle Position Sensor and IAC. Maybe the temp sensor should be next in that linel.

Oh, off topic, sorry...thanks for the info on the Reservoir.....

Thanks...pulled the vacuum line while it was running, no fuel came out so I suppose the diaphragm isn't broken. The vacuum line had really good suction. I have now a hand held vacuum pump test kit, i'll follow the haynes manual and test the FPR and my EGR.
