I am doing basically the same thing, in my research I discovered that the fuel pump and lines will have to be swapped out. So I will tell you what I'm doing, maybe this will help. My gas tank is in rough shape so I am buying another. Instead of adapting lines together I have opted to buy a gas tank from an older Bronco. Then I will buy a roll of 3/8 aluminum or stainless, (whatever I find) fuel line, a holley blue pump and a regulator. The Fuel system in the efi Broncos are designed for low volume high pressure. We need low pressure high volume. Thats basically what you will need to do as well. You shouldnt have to replace the tank but by the time you pull out the fuel pump, adapt for bigger fuel lines you might consider doing the same. As for carb, they are all pretty good. I am partial to holley so I am going to get a Holley Truck Avenger. Tranny kickdown I cant help you with, Im going to cross that bridge when I get there. Im hoping I can just hook it to the throttle linkage on the carb
