4x4 wont engage

95 w/ 5.8 351 When I push the 4x4 button the light comes on but the 4x4 will not engage. The low range works but not the 4 wheel drive.

check and make sure your front hubs are engaged. manual or auto......? :huh:

tap the solenoid mounted on the back of the transfer case with a hammer. dont **** it, but be firm. these are notorious for going bad
