Having a clunking sound when engaging 4 wheel drive think its a u joint checked underneath and its a little loose in the boot. What part would i need to get ?
If I understand you're problem correct the looseness is coming from the slip joint, if this is the case you need to take the driveshaft to a drivetrain shop and have it replaced. About $100, and make sure they put a greese fitting in it.
as dumb as it sounds, check to see if all of you driveshaft bolts are tight. knew a guy with a ranger and he thought that he needed new u joints but it was really the bolts between the pumpkin and the driveshaft coming loose.
