I've done a lift for someone else but never purchased a kit for myself. I was wondering what all comes in a kit vs. a system and what additional parts I'll be required to get. Also, with a 4" lift will anything need to be done to the driveshafts? I'm not looking for what "should" be needed but what has to be. I hope I'm not sounding like to big of a dumby?

There are many different lift packages. Some just have drop brackets and an add-a-leaf, some come with brackets, coil springs and new radius arms, some come with new rear leaf packs and some with blocks.

If you look on Jeffs you'll see many different types and Brands

Drop brackets and add-a-leaf- cheapest

New radius Arms are usually the most expensive

New leaf packs also kinda expensive.

They all do the same job, but the quality is different.

Anything with new packs, arms, and coils are usually the best quality, cause you have all new gera, but you can still have a solid running truck with the blocks and add-a-leaf and drop brackets.

I have a 4'' on mine, with add-a-leaf, drop brackets, and new coils and its a little stiff but still a good ride.

The drive shaft does not need to be altered with a 4'' lift. Thats usually comes in play with some 6+"

Your ??'s arent stupid, your smart to ask before you jump into somethign and have your hands into something you cant finish and your bronco up on jacks with no place to go.

Best of luck , hope i was able to help.

System is the way to go if you don't want to have to get anything else. Most systems come with shocks, coils,ad leafs/blocks, pitman arm, etc. Kits usually just have blocks for the rear.and springs for the front. Now, if that is the only lift you want, you can gain 3-4 inches on the back by flipping your rear spring shackle, this just leaves the front to be done.. definite money saver... all depends on what you want, and what you want to do with it........
