My 90 302 has a squeeking noise coming from the tensioner pulley, how do you replace one? What elese could it be? That is the most annoying noise, and I noticed it idling and driving.

Could also be a glazed belt. Take the blet off and spin the tensioner to see if it makes noise. My buddy swears about waxing the belt (with a candle, while running) to take out the squeaks. The belted side, not the slick side.

I found the problem, the bearing in the rebuilt alternator is shot already. I bought the alternator in november!

Its good you found the sqeak I know what you mean about annoying . One thing to remember on that tesioner pulley if you ever do have to remove it is that it is left hand thread so dont get too carried away it will break and if the plastic pulley goes to **** when you go to get a new one ask the parts guy for a metal one there were a few years that had that . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
