2bbl intake swap?

So im thinkin about swappin intakes, my stock 4bbl with a worn out Edelbrock 600 for a 2bbl with the stock Motorcraft carb off a mustang. Im think ill get better milage and maybe better performance since my Edelbrock needs rebuilt and i dont have to time to do it. Ive also heard that those Motorcraft 2bbls where made by Holley and a new Holley 2300 500cfm 2bbl will bolt right up.
