My 1994 ford bronco is having problems starting the first start of the day, after that it starts everytime. The check engine light comes on when i turn the key as it should but if it does not go out while cranking it will not start. When this happens there is no spark from the coil.Does anyone have any suggestions

My understanding is that the CEL light will go out while cranking if the PCM is getting a PIP signal, and that the PIP signal comes from the hall effect sensor in the distributor, yet I am also pretty sure that there is a PIP OUT pin on the Ignition Control Module ICM, I THINK that the problem is probably one or the other, and of the two the ICM fails more often. Of course it could be a crappy connection in the ignition circuit. You certainly have narrowed down your issue though.

This link can help you troubleshoot.
