1990 front shock

help! I broke my driver side front shock mount today.i have a 1990 full size bronc

it as quad front shocks i broke the mount for the d/s front shock,the mount looks as if its a pressed in shouldered bolt may be welded.any ideas on repair

The best thing to do is to get one from a junk yard. When you get the old one off, drill some new holes in the mount and the frame and use grade 8 bolts to put the mount on.

Those are rivits, you will have to grind them offand knock them out.

Turk, Welcome to Bronco Zone!!! I have the same concern on my 84 with the quad shock set-up. The front shock mount is very weak, just that stud protruding out from the axle mount. IF you can weld a box-bracket mount for the shock, si milar to that on the rear axle, that would be the best solution.

Im thinking about grinding whats left of the broken threads off and welding a bolt to the shoulder then chopping the head of the bolt off so i can get the shock tight on the mount. what do you think ?

hello its me again got the front shock mount repaired the local parts store had shock mount repair kit.how it works is you grind off old mount drill a hole 1/2 inch
