Hi all..new to the forum here some i'm gonna do the best I can, but heres what i've got.

I was going down the road in my 1990 ford bronco and it just cuts off. It has been sitting now for roughly a month and i've been working on it here and there.

It isn't getting any fire, it wants to crank but won't. It has got a MSD ignition and coil on it, but i have since replaced the coil, and put a new ignition modular on the side of the distributor.

I have verified that it has fuel going to it, and i can hear the fuel pump acctuate when i turn the switch to the on position. The timing chain isn't bad because the button in the distributor is still turning. I'm thinking this is an electrial issue, but i traced alot of wires and had 12 volts everywhere. DOES ANYONE have ANY IDEA what this could possibly be??

NOTE: this bronco used to have an alarm system in it, i've owned it for about a year, and it ran great until it just stopped last month. It's got the 351 windsor in it. PLEASE HELP!?!?!?

Thanks,

Joe

It isn't getting any fire,

Do you mean that you checked for spark and it doesn't spark?

it wants to crank but won't

Do you mean that it won't start?, OR do you mean that the starter doesn't make the enging go round and round?

I'm going to take this to mean that you checked for spark and that you have none.

Where did you check for spark? From the coil, or at the plugs?

When you turn the key to ON/Run do you ahve 12 volts at the bat side of the coil?

Do you also have 12 volts at the bat side of the coil when you are cranking the engine?

When you turn the key to on, does your CEL light?

Assuming that it does, does it gradually go out as you crank the engine?

Think about the alarm. Does it still work? Was it fully disconected?

In my 1990, I replaced my battery and couldn't start the engine, because I needed to turn off the alarm with the alarm remote first.
