Just wondering if any one knows how the padded part of the dash that is over the dash pocket and radio area comes off. It is cracked and I want to get it recovered. Thanks

If it is anything like an 80 - 86 there should be about 4 screws near the windshield and several along the bottom edge toward the seats.  The best place to learn is at a local auto parts recycle yard.

Not sure if you figured it out yet, but the only thing you will have to disconnect to get the padded dash off is the speaker wires from the speakers. Then you will have to pop off the inch and a half wide trim that runs at the base of the dash. There will be mounting brackets you will then have to unscrew. Next you have to unscrew screws from where there is a lip on the dash. With a little bit of wiggling you can maneuver it out of there. It's a tight squeeze!

I also have a 87 bronco II and recently repainted the dash and bought a dash cover from broncograveyard.com. It looks way better!
