i had to raise the engine in order to change the oil pan out, using some 2x4 an a bottle jack.on the first lift the jack slipped an the motor dropped about 1/2 inch.second time being more successfull, had to raise motor 2 inches to get the pan out.pan swap was done, but driving afterwards tranny is not going into third, even shifting manually,it doesnt want to go.from first to second it shifts a little rough.had no prior issues before pan swap, anybody with ideas of what may have happend an how to fix would be gratefull. 351w motor,c6 tranny.

visually im not seeing anything bent, pinched or out of place, not sure about the internal or if its even possible to damage something inside from lifting motor 2 inches.im not a tranny guy so im winging it here.i changed the pan out according to chiltons,an the tranny issue started the first drive out,an the brake light stays on didnt do that before .it does have brake issues but the light an tranny were working fine prior to pan change,(arizona gremlins).thanks for replying.

It sounds like you either bent your linkage or the adjustment nut where the linkage meets the tranny might have slipped

Thats a thought, maybe the vaccum line fell off the shift modulator, or damaged the rubber or the hard tube.
