1983 Bronco

My step son has bought a 1983 Bronco with the alternator wiring cut out.

Could anyone tell me were the wires were suposed to go in relation to the posts on the alternator?

Attached are two diagrams. One is for a alternator with ammeter and the other is for alternator with warning light only. Basically the large black with orange goes to the charging post and the field connection goes to the Field on the regulator and the stator terminal on the alternator depends on the type of hookup.
