Hi TH.., welcome..!!

With the hubs locked in 4x4.., try rocking back-n-forth with the trannie, going from 1st. to reverse, while pulling back on the shifter.

If it's the stock "T" handle, you have to squeeze the lock button.

May be best to remove the handle cover & spray **** the two shift rails.

Make sure something isn't jammed up in there by accident or on purpose.

Un-lock hubs & try again if it didn't come loose.

3-4 guys push'n back-n-forth works as well.
