Here I GO AGAIN!!

After rebuilding my carb again. i found a old exploded view of my carb in the glove box "the rebulit kit did not come with one."

it shows a pic of a POWER VALVE ASSY. NOT a DASHPOT"four screws on the outside of the carb, with a diaphragm and spring"

NOT the VALVE-SPARK CONTROL " which threads in to the side of the carb like a bolt"

this"power valve" is INSIDE the carb, its a rod that hangs down into the bowl has a bee bee and a spring.

I have called parts stores, and shops and no one really knows what im taking about, they are getting the dashpot and the valve spark control confused with the power valve. "i really dont know what im talking about"

but i do have the pic right in front of me.

So my question......

dose anyone know what im talking about?

if this is sticking would or could this cause my EB to just idle and not rev up or accelerate

can i rebuild this part of the carb? it says "DO NOT REMOVE" IN THE DESTRUCTIONS"

bully bob has been walking me through this for a week now. he thought i should start a new thread.so here I GO AGAIN :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i guess i should mention that my manual is for a '67 bronco, but i dont imagine that there is too much difference. but then again they did change a bunch of stuff from '66 to '67. so these pics might not be useful.

i found these auctions on ebay the other day they might be of some interest. here are the auction numbers; 270503621565, and 110469926895. the second one is the same book that i have and has been very helpful but i also have a '67.

The bad news is., & all be it, the accel. pump & power valve are very important.

The eng. should be able to "rev. up eventually" with one, or both not functioning at 100%

Increased amounts of fuel must enter the carb. throat, via the main jet, as the throttle plate opening is increased.

If that passage is plugged., that won't happen.

I took off the dash *** and changed the diapram.(I have four different sizes?) meaning if i lay ALL of them flat they ALL measure different heights.

none of them worked "still just idles" But if i stick a flat head against the diapram "the little metal round contact surface" the bronco will die.

Even with the power valve unscrewed it still just idles, I have 3 different power valves all three are a different design none of the work either.

I ALMOST have my wife convinced into taking the carb off my 66 mustang just to see if it will run with a different carb it too is a single barrel looks exactly the same the mustang has a auto choke were the bronco is manual still need do do some research to see if it will even work
