Just wanted to put out a warning for anyone that owns an Expedition with rear disk Brakes. I bought mine July '05. Some kind soul broke off the squeal tabs from the brake pads. I was on a road trip when my brakes started grinding a bit. Didn't think it was overly serious, had an inspection done shortly before the trip and the brakes were checked off as 60%. I made the decision to drive home and look at the brakes there. I bought new pads and started the install. The calipers had seized, could not get the piston to colapse. So I was back at the parts store trying to track down a couple calipers. Noone had them because the trucks too new I guess. Had to go through Ford. Now 600.00 later (just in parts) I was back on the road. There was no warning, The brakes started grinding and I put about three hundred kilometers on them and they were done.

Not sure on an Expedition but most rear calipers ***** in while pressing them in at the same time. their is a tool that u can rent from autozone to do this easly. might not be the case in your truck though. i would have taking it back to who ever had checked out your brakes before and ******* them out but thats me :glare:

The ***** in calipers are the ones with the e-brake as part of the normal caliper assembly. In the case of my truck the rotor actually has a drum built into it for the e-brake. The e-brake has small brake shoes, they are really cute (lol) I appreciate your thoughts but I did consider that to be the problem at first but the other side pressed in no problem. I went back to the shop that did the inspection and they insisted they were in good working order when inspected, I possibly have another problem that they are more than willing to find for me. 110 bucks an hour. Brakes work fine now.
