im not having issues with the motor per se but the key cylinder to lower and raise the window is giving me a problem. i got inside the tailgate and see a small box (tailgate key switch) with 2 buttons on it. one button loweres and one button raises the window. when i push the buttons manually the window goes up n down. but using the key from outside, i can make window go up but it wont go down even though it seems the paddle on the key cylinder hits the button, just not hard enough i guess. have you dealt with this issue. wondering if the key cylinder has too much play in it. any resolution ideas ????? thanks

The paddle or button may be worn.
Does the key cylinder feel sloppy?  Ensure that its hairpin © clip is still in place or not loose or rusted.

Circuit Overview & Diagram; "... circuit is a common (Ford) polarity-reversing circuit with 2 switches. Each switch has its own power feed; the dash switch through the ignition switch (key-on only) and the tailgate key switch from the battery (always hot). The dash switch normally holds both motor wires to ground, and the key switch normally holds the motor wires to the dash switch wires. When either is operated, it sends one of the wires hot, powering the motor (assuming the latch switch is closed). When operated the other way, the polarity is reversed, reversing the motor's direction. Neither switch is a "master" because neither will work if the other is in the opposite position..."

Yo,

How did the bucking work out?

Was hoping to see a reply from you on my tests.

What year do you have?

It shows 95 in this title, but in your  post on the bucking issue you state is a 96.

i am copying all ur suggestions and forwarding them to my brother. he is a mechanic and will be checking everyting you suggested. we did find the ignition module plug a bit loose. hoping that was the issue. the truck acted up on me on wednesday. i had it towed to his shop. we hook up the fuel pump pressure gauge and i drive it for 40+ miles and not a single buck or blip. definately dealing with a crazy intermittent issue. had the same thing happen a few years back to my 2004 ranger. eventually found out it was the fuel pump failing. thanks for ur help   will keep you posted

have to recheck the key cylinder to see if clip is there.
