My 17 year old & his buddy just replaced the transfer case with a reman. All appears to work well. We have 2 questions after finishing the job..
when we separated the xfer case from the transmission adapter I would say about 3 or 4 quarts of ATF came out. Is there supposed to be ATF in this area is question number 1. I think we had to add about the same amount that came out, back into the transmission.
Number 2 is that the speedo reads about 10 mph high. We re-used the old speedo. Why would the speedo be off so much?
we also replaced u-joints on front & rear and rebuilt the cardon joint which eliminated shift clunking from drive shaft backlash.
Overall not bad for a couple of millennials!
