I have a 93 with original 351w. I replaced throttle body gasket, vacume lines, pcv valve, air filter, breather filter, and seafoamed the brakebooster and fuel take. I replaced the fuel filter about a month ago and now iam having real bad idle problems when the motor gets warm. So my question is do i need to drop the fuel take and check for grim built up thats clogging filter and check fuel pump and fuel lines. I have done everything i can think of to fix the problem.

Yo Eliasbarker,

Welcome!

Try a Self Test for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s by my pal, BroncoJoe19
http://broncozone.co...7&mode=threaded

Some basics;
The engine temperature must be greater than 50° F for the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test and greater than 180° F for the Key On Engine Running (KOER) Self-Test.

Run it around to heat the engine up and shift thru all gears including Reverse.
Make sure A/C is off and transmission is in Park (automatic); or in Neutral for a Manual & release clutch.
Then turn off engine, all accessories/lights (close driver's door) , etc.

Do KOEO test First

Post Code(s) here according to:

See  my vacuum leak test in post #20 @ http://broncozone.com/topic/23994-90-58l-getting-continuous-code-33-and-running-code-44/?p=125535

Normal Engine Vacuum at Idle is 15-22 in-Hg for 92 to 96 Bronco; by Ford

see what itis when it's @ normal operating temperature.

See if EGR valve is stuck or EVP is defective.

Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) Test; Pull the  vacuum line & check for gasoline...There shouldn't even be the ODOR of gas in it." miesk5 note; Check fuel pressure, install fuel pressure gauge, start and run the engine at idle. Fuel pressures between 28 and 34 PSI are typical (4.9L typically is 15 PSI higher). Disconnect the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator. Fuel pressure typically jumps to max PSI.

Check fuel pressure.

Engine Running: 5.8L 30-45 psi

Key ON Engine OFF: 5.8L 35-45 psi
