Hi! I am about to start on my 1971 ford bronco project and need to collect some parts and know-how. I am wondering if anyone know what kind of a bench seat (probably one from a truck) would fit in the front of my bronco, and still allow for the shifter to be functional??? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi 'chick.., welcome..!!

Where RU.., & what shifter do you have..? JBG (sponsor here) on the "right" coast has factory

used benches in various condition.

www.tomsbroncoparts  on the "left" coast has them as well.  These bolt right in.

Also, new covers are available.

Stock shifters..., no problem.  Some transplanted transmissions/shifters.., may have an issue.

What's wrong with your current seats..? If they're worn out buckets.., they can be restored pretty

easily & not much $$$.

Hi Bully Bob!

I think I have a small hurst shifter. Three on the floor, so I wanted to make sure that I could fit a bench seat in the front. I also need to maximize the seating in the bronco because I have four small kids. I don't want to give up driving my baby, just because I have kids ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />. What do you mean "you're a sponsor"?

You shouldn't have any (bench seat) problems with what sounds like a stock transmission & t-case shifter.

You will be best served here if you fill-in your info pages (see mine left, & below) this shows on

every post & removes a lot of guessing & mistakes.

----- Members here are glad to help -----

www.jeffsbroncograveyard.com  is a sponsor here (BroncoZone) & offers a discount.

--- The stock bench seat is the way to go. Safety is an issue. Drilling holes for some odd seat may

work but who knows the strength.

Seat belts may be an issue depending on your state.

Seems I've seen Early Bronco bench seats on Ebay &/or Craigs List.
