So I have a 1990 ford bronco. 351w EFI bored .40 over. I have an oil leak at the back of the motor and front of the trans. I have replaced the valve cover gaskets. They are leaking anymore. I replaced the rear main seal not coming from there. Just finished replacing the oil pan and gasket. Still coming from the same spot. In the picture shows exactly where it is coming from. Anyone have any idea how to track the leak down. And also Happy Easter.

Here's the picture. Had to cut down the size to be able to upload it. Hopefully you can see the black oil pan and the silver bell housing.

Location
Floating in the Pacific
Yo broncoboyerusa,
This is what a Ford mechanic would do:
"When diagnosing engine oil leaks, the source and location of the leak must be identified prior to service.
Fluorescent Oil Additive Method
Add Rotunda Gas Engine Dye 164-R3705 or equivalent to the engine oil. Use 29.6 ml (1 ounce) of fluorescent additive in all engines.
Clean engine with a suitable solvent to remove all traces of oil.
Run engine for 15 minutes.
Stop the engine and inspect all seal, gasket and galley plug areas for leaks using Rotunda Oil Leak Detector 164-R0756 or equivalent. A clear bright yellow or orange area will identify leak. For extremely small leaks, several hours may be required for the leak to appear.
NOTE: For minor gasket leaks tightening the retaining bolts may resolve the problem.
Service all leaks as required.
...

Leakage Points:
Examine the following areas for oil leakage.
Underhood;
Valve cover gaskets (6584)
Intake manifold gaskets (9439)
Head gaskets (6051)
Oil bypass filter (6714)
Distributor O-ring
Oil level indicator (dipstick) tube connection
Oil pressure sensor (9278)
Cup plugs and/or pipe plugs at end of oil passages

Under Engine, with Vehicle on Hoist;
Oil pan gasket (6710)
Oil pan front and rear end seals
Crankshaft front seal (6700)
Crankshaft rear oil seal (6701)
Engine damper keyway (damper to damper bolt/washer interface)
...
Engine oil leaks are sometimes improperly diagnosed as transmission pump seal leaks. The following areas of possible leakage should also be checked to determine if engine oil leakage is causing the problem.
Leakage at the valve cover may allow engine oil to flow over the converter housing or seep down between the converter housing and block causing oil to be present in or at the bottom of the converter housing.
Oil plug leaks will allow oil to flow down the rear face of the block to the converter housing.
Leakage at the crankshaft seal will work back to the flywheel, and then into the converter housing."

I clean engine off as well as possible without hosing down connectors, EEC, etc..cover distr vap & as many connectors and main eec conn and eec w/SARAN wrap etc.

Then puff baby powder on suspect areas (I use an old liquid suction bulb with long tube & fill tube partially with baby powder.

I did do the dye and saw that it was coming straight down on that access plate on the trans. The oil thing I have not done is check the oil plugs. Does anyone know or where to find where all the oil plugs are on the back of the motor.

So I solved the problem by going through every possibility it could be. After I took apart and replaced every gasket on the bad of the motor. It was the top oil plug. The guy who built the motor did not use any tape or gasket maker. A little tape and gasket maker around the ***** and no more leak.
