I have a 1985 Ford (Eddie Bauer Edition) Bronco with c 6 and 351 windsor and very tired running gear ... Instead of a rebuild , I was thinking of buying and rebuilding a friends engine tranny combo but was wondering if it was a direct bolt in or a big headache... It is a 1986 F250 with a 4 speed manual 4x4 transmission bolted up to a 460 big block (i have the correct solid 460 into bronco engine mounts (my concern was direct bolt in and to the transfer case ... ?) Any help on this swap would be greatly appreciated !!!! I realize this may have been asked before but i'm not an expert like you all... ! P.S. while i'm on my newbie questions - will the f250's front axle assembly bolt on (they look similar) to my 1985 Bronco ? If not how to make it fit ??? Sorry if posted before ...

Check out http://shop.broncograveyard.com/429-460-SWAPS/departments/555/. They sell all the 429/460 swap stuff.

as long as both carbedor  or if both are EFI, the same year or newer with all the Factory smog parts for that engine you SHOULD be fine for inspection.

same for the fuel injinjection.  But must ensure firing order is same, etc.
