Sounds like a standard relay that can be used for lots of uses and cab be found at any parts store. I'm not sure what yours specifically is being used for

Yo,

That is definitely a previous owner or shop addition. For what, who knows?

If it was wired, you can try to turn on all accessories, especially radio, extra lights, etc. and see which don't operate.

Yo,

Will try to find a wiring diagram. So far, no luck in Auto Repair Reference Center or Chilton.

What brand and model carburetor?

Hopefully other members will help out soon.

The carb is a holly 4 barrel with e5te-9510-Aba on throat then under that list- 50174-1 and under that. 2134. I have been searching for weeks so any help is really appreciated.

Thank you this is driving me nuts.

If it is part of the electric trailer brake system, it is definitely aftermarket.  You can confirm it's function by tracing the wires to see if they go to the trailer power connection.

Ok I broke down and chased the wires, there are 5 from the 4 posts on plug

1 goes to relay beside this one and is a ground

1 from same post as above goes to vacuum control mod/reg or whatever it is called also ground

1 goes to battery side of starter solenoid

1 goes to choke

1 goes to sta post of alternator

This has alt gauge not light but what is this relay for I haven't found it anywhere I research

There are two ways to hook up an electric choke.  1. The original Ford/Holly had a 7V coil and was hooked as shown in the attached diagram.  2. if the choke heater was replaced with a 12V coil then the heater had to be supplied from a switched source.  In other words power to the coil only when the ignition switch is ON/RUN.  It sounds like some previous owner put a 12V coil in the heater.  They then added a relay to control the 12V to it, not a necessary thing to do.  All you need to get the choke heater to function is to supply it from a 12V source that is only hot when the key is ON/RUN.   All that is necessary is to connect it to a wire with red/lg (Red with Light green stripe), (that is how mine is hooked up).  You should be able to find one on the driver side near the ignition module. Just verify that is hot only when the key is in RUN before connecting it to the choke heater.

The relay was probably added by the previous owner to serve that function and the relay probably has shorted contacts.  That would put 12V on the heater choke continuously.

So you can wire in a new relay or find a wire that is only hot when the key is in RUN and hook it to the heater coil.

Hope that all make sense

:)>-
