I have a '96 and just replaced my exhaust and Cat pipes back to the header. I was only able to find a simple rectangular new heat shield to replace one that is riveted to the floor pan above these heat generators. There are 2 others in place of various size & shape - that are almost paper-thin due to rust. I have read about others who have removed them altogether and blanketed under the carpet in the cab to manage the heat. I am wondering if anyone has found a source for replacement shields for under the truck? Thanks

Yo Tom,

GO with a heat shield such as, Thermo-Tec 16500 Muffler/Catalytic Converter Heat Shield by Thermo-Tec

https://www.amazon.com/Thermo-Tec-16500-Muffler-Catalytic-Converter/dp/B000TXSER4

Probably install under carpet or mat.

I doubt that new shields are available at dealers any more. I secured mine with long worm gear clamps.
