I bought my 1995 Bronco almost the same as it sits. Just added wheels tires, new grille, headlights, a little more lift 20160409_170159_resized.jpgand light bar. I love my Bronco.

Although Iv'e had enough of the "O.J." jokes.

Just got mine a 4 weeks ago. Bleed the brakes- fluid was dark. Replaced shoes and wheel cylinders- half the hardware was missing. Replaced fuel tank and float- gas gauge not working and tank patched with epoxy and Popsicle sticks. My wife laughs but I love it because I wanted one since I was 15. Side note least the PO left me with 6 in BDS and 35 toyos. I have to do the steering next....good times lol

I've developed an issue in the past week, with my 95 Bronco. Runs and shifts great, but when I stop and then start again, it gives a slight clunk like something is shifting or slipping. Axle? or maybe u joint?

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Zone!  Nice looking truck. There should be no play in the Cardan joint (the one directly behind the transfer case) or the one at the differential.

Yo guys,

As Fred advised, and;

Instead of sliding into the t-case like a car driveshaft would into a trans, a Bronco driveshaft normally is two pieces that slide together. The slipshaft is normally covered by a rubber boot in the middle;

Miesk5 note, trucky upgraded the u joints

When you check the u-joints as Spiked described, park it on a flat spot, block the wheels & put it in neutral. That way the driveshaft will be free to move if the u-joints are bad..."

miesk5 note, slip yoke is often referred to as the Slip Shaft Spline

LOL

Driveline Clunk as Vehicle Starts to Move Following a Brake Stop (Two-Piece Driveshaft); "...Loose rear spring U-bolts. TIGHTEN U-bolts to specification. Worn or galled output driveshaft and coupling shaft splines. REMOVE the driveshaft from the vehicle. CLEAN the male splines and INSPECT for worn or galled splines. REPLACE if necessary. Worn or galled driveshaft slip yoke splines. CLEAN and INSPECT the female splines of the driveshaft slip yoke for worn or galled condition. REPLACE if necessary. Damaged driveshaft slip yoke seal. REPLACE seal. Insufficient lubrication in driveshaft slip yoke. Using a long handle (stencil type) brush, APPLY grease evenly on all the splines of the driveshaft slip yoke. REINSTALL driveshaft and using a hand grease gun, LUBRICATE the driveshaft slip yoke through the grease fitting. Use Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or -K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B. NOTE: Install the driveshaft slip yoke, making sure that the coupling shaft and driveshaft are in phase..."; Miesk5 Note, Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C ESA-M1C75-B is available as Castrol MP Multi-Purpose Chassis Grease is a NLGI #2 lithium based, water resistant grease or ConocoPhillips Moly Poly Grease NLGI No. 2.

Yo, btw, our 96 has had that drives haft clunk since we bought it new, never greased or replaced it because 3 ford dealership techs have said as long as the bottom is intact and clamps tight, etc . No need to remove boot and grease.
