I have 78 bronco with a 4 speed. She has a 2 1/2 inch lift but I want to go bigger. I live in Colorado and go hunting and off roading a lot. I Use her as a daily driver also. I want her to handle her own if need be, but be streetable also. Im looking at the 6 inch super flex from Jeffs. am i making a mistake, or should I just stick with a standered lift? Sometimes I like to raise **** but I don't like to bang her up though. She is on 33,s now but Im going to a 35. Any input?

Hi Arch., welcome..!

Keep in mind, for every one thing changed.., there's going to be +- two more items to be changed/altered.

For example.., larger tires may req. a gearing change.

Best advice is to stop at your local 4x4 shop & ask them what all needs to be altered with a 6" lift.

Drive shafts, brake lines, steering/front-end alignment, rear axle rotation/alignment for a few examples.

It's all doable.., just can't take "shortcuts"  ---- safty is job 1  Fat wallet is job 2 ..... $-)   :D/

I agree! I'm willing to ponny up the money but my delima is, is a super flex kit too much for the main roads? I plan on putting my sway bars on a quick release. I also want to put the 35's under her. Feedback is always appricated.

Those of you who have experience with the 6 inch super flex on this truck, is it still stable on the road, if you retain your sway bars? How about off road when you realice the sway bars, dose the truck start to do the slinky dance on the side of a hill? I want to get the best of both worlds, but not just have an off road truck only.

Hey Archi welcome,

All good advice above.   Remember you will sacrifice roadability for every inch you raise the truck. No matter what other modification you make the center of gravity is raised and the truck is going to be less stable when turning especially at higher speeds.  Thicker sway bars can make handling worse on a high lifted truck. They can transfer energy to the frame making it less stable since the center of gravity is raised.

Personally I would go with the 2" lift and have the sway bars quick disconnected so you can have the truck articulate when off the road. These trucks are made for off road driving. You don't really need to modify them greatly to make them even better.  But you can make them a real handful to drive on the road.

Good Luck
