Okay so i got what i think is a really good deal on an 83 bronco with the v8 302 5.0 in it but it is missing the ac unit and the smog control and has a whole in the floor pan and wasnt running but i changed out the valve cover gaskets, put in new plugs and wires, did a complete oil change on it and found out the it had gas in the oil and added a new pcv valve and found out that it has an exaust leak an evap leak and the heater core was done for. What sites does everyone reccommend for parts if you have a budget to restore it and get it running over like 10 years haha. I also have to get new headlights, a grill and a new fender and a new carb.

Hi '83.., welcome..!!

Ouch..!!   I hope ya got it "free" ..... >:D< <'>

I think you'll need a factory manual or, at least a Haynes or Chilton manual.

-OR- spend some time in your local libuary.

Wrecking yards &/or a donor veh. may be in order.

Enjoy the project.

Sounds like you and I b ought from the same person. My '85 needs tons of "weekend mechanical" work. So far: dimmer switch, hood release, brake light switch, repaid console cover, evacuated the r12 to prepare for the 13a, repair under the hood light, cleaned, vacuumed, aligned, dried.out.

Need:

  1. Rust repair
  2. Finish retrofit of A/C
  3. Find center bezel and radio
  4. New seats
  5. Insulation,
  6. Interior door panels
  7. Headliner
  8. Speedo cable for cruise control
  9. Paint and then drive
It runs GREAT! and has a rebuilt motor. The transmission shifts perfectly. Keep us posted on your progress. I think I am tiring others out with my weird ideas and calls for help. Supreme Commander has been very helpful and patient.
