yo K,

I won't offer an opinion, but will give you some dual info LINKs;

Dual info, LMC Cat-Back in a 96 5.8 http://broncozone.com/topic/20435-lmc-exhaust/page__gopid__107597&

"...48-5568 CAT-BACK PERF DUAL EXHAUST SYS 1 319.95 319.95 In Stock

Just to let everyone know I had this installed on my 96 351w

This kit is made for a long bed so had to cut about 8 inches or so from the first pipe and had to do abit of tweaking to get under the trailer hitch. It sounds more quite than the Gibson I had on it until the resonators break down. Has a nice quite rumble nothing near obnoxious. It hangs about 3 inches below the rear bumper. Also you need to drill a hole for the o2 sensor which they didn't tell you in the instructions. ... It clears the 32 gallon tank with no problems...My issue was the trailer hitch . If I had no trailer hitch it would have been snug to the rear bumper. I have the 32 gallon tank. Sure if you want to use my post to reviews not a problem. And no you dont need a lift I am stock suspension..." see his pics

"From Gibson I installed their stainless steel, 3-inch, CAT-BACK free flow exhaust system. Installation was a breeze, it bolted right in place to the factory pinnings. And after 5 years, there hasn't been a single leak!"

btw, I like the stainless steel or at least aluminized steel exhaust components; our 96 still has the original alum. steel system exc for the muffle hanger.

Hey KY,

If you don't have a need for the engine to run high RPM such as drag racing, the sing in dual out is cheaper, easier, and still gives you the dual look most want.

BTW: I have a sing in dual out Flowmaster off The Beast.  Pm me if you want a price and more info.

Hey Ron, send me that info....I figured it was going to be a lot cheaper to do a dual outlet muffler.....any reason to upgrade to a set of shorty headers over factory?

Hey KY,

I'll pm you with the muffler info.

I have found shorty, (or any other headers) are only worthwhile if other changes to the cam and intake are done that make the engine **** more air and need to evacuate it faster.  If you are happy with the stock engine and don't plan other modifications you don't need the headers.
