Finally have the adjuster coming to look at the girl, not the best image left tire is straight, but cocked, right tire not so much. She drags in reverse, 2 of the front shocks were damaged by the now bent sway bar. You can see the steering wheel is now at 12&6, plus bent bumper, and step and slight damage to the left fender. My concern is them wanting to total it. The new Dodge he choose not to hit from behind and cut into my lane didn't get a scratch although the pass side mirror broke the guys windshield!

yo RR,

Google info to see if you can opt to het it repaired or for the ins co to give you value for it and keep title. Research NADA and/or http://www.kbb.com/ for value; don't take first offer. Get a 3rd party appraisal

read this by Ewgotz; " got rear ended back in October. My damage was a lot worse than what you have. They low balled me on the value even with the work I put into it.

First they said it was about 3k value. Than after the engine, tranny and diff receipts they offered 4k.

I got a 3rd party appraiser, so did the insurance company.

The 2 appraisers made their estimates.

Mine said about 14k

Theirs said 12k

So they both got together and agreed at 13k value.

So the insurance company called me up and said we are sending a check to have it repaired.

In the end it took 10k to repair my truck.

The frame was beyond safely repairing it. So it got a frame swap and the insurance had no issues paying it. Option 2

Would be to go all over eBay, Craigslist and any other car sales methods and print out the ads of Broncos similar to yours to despute the value of your vehicle.

I've done both options.

From my first bronco accident a little over 4 years ago, I went the ad route.

This second one I went the appraiser route.

You will have to pay for the appraiser. I paid about $300 for mine. It may vary where you are at.

If I was able to redo the 1st one, I'd go the appraiser route.

My appraiser used Broncos from the big auctions like mecum.... I spelled that wrong.... But he used the high dollar ones to compare mine to. Than took off certain x amount of dollars for anything that was in worse shape like interior condition. "

DO NOT LET THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOW YOUR BRONCO OFF YOUR PROPERTY! That will make thing exponentially more complicated and stressful.

Thanks for the info Supreme "High Commander", (been watching 3rd Rock on Netflix). I took it to a Offroad place here in town, insurance first sent me to a collision center that didn't have a clue about the 4-wheel drive part. This shops concern is them wanting to total it as well, they gave me 18 this morning for the bumper, front tires, nurf bar, fender repair, etc. With a notation of it still needing the mechanical stuff looked at, it did brake the right side bracket for the pivot, but the insurance adjuster did list it as having aftermarket suspension components so we will see what happens?

Great to be back in the Big Red Bronco! People don't cut you off for fear you'll roll right over them, down side is she won't fill up on $25 and drive for over a week.

I did chase down a Bronco 1 last night as I exited the freeway, he showed me where the 4 wheel drive truck and Jeep night is held. Sadly I'm a Sir there, but nice young folks, 4 rows of vehicles and more pulling in when I left, but now I want to put a 4" lift on her with 35s, I gotta replace the tires anyway.

"I don't know why it was a $1000 more then I told you cutie, I'll look into that". Or "No I didn't change the truck, it's always been this tall"

P.S. threw $50 worth of freon at her and we have AC again, see how long it lasts? No rubber left on lines at manifold, but should be better then the "Feels Like 106 & 109", such is life in Texas!

yo RR,

Glad that you're back in the saddle again!

Keep it 4x4'ing and enjoy the other 4x4s on 4 wheel drive truck and Jeep night.
