My '85 Bronco has the normal alternator and a/c condensor which appear pitted. Since I am going to be pulling the compressor and maybe the alternator can anyone give me their solution on how to get rid of the oxidation and make them appear like new? My first instincts to take a wire brush to them.  $-)

Two methods seem popular. One is Marval Mystery Oil and the other is Arm and Hammer Whitener toothpaste. I think we have it under control

I use a brass wire wheel (on bench grinder) on many auto parts.., & many other objects around the house.

The brass is a bit less rough as opposed to steel.

Also have many small wheels that insert into the air driven die grinder. Works well on tight/hard to reach areas.

Real small is the Dremmel with a wire wheel. Works well.
