aod tranny problems

As stated aod tranny problems...shifts fine in first and second gears slams into drive and when it shifts into overdrive the transmission cant pull it and the truck slows down to the point that it slams back into drive even if the truck is floored...im thinking bad torque converter but really want confirmation before hanging parts and hoping...thanks for the help in advance

TV Linkage & Adjustment; "The best way to set the TV pressure is with a pressure gauge tapped into the side port of the transmission.. There is a tool you put on the end of the TV cable to set some preload and then you adjust the TV cable so that it reads exactly 5 PSI..(in neutral, with the motor warm)..."

Thanks miesk5 for the info...checked the fluid level as im not a genius but i am a car guy...maybe its just time i try my first tranny rebuild!!!
