Howdy,

Great site. My brother and sister in-law knew we were looking for a 4 wheeler to get in an out of our property during monsoon season and decided to rehome their 1995 Bronco to us.

This 95 is in really great shape with only 137k on it and needs some minor fixes to make it easy for my wife (who has MS) to get in and out of the truck.

All my other Bronco's (8 in all) always had grab bars and steps already installed, so wondering what manufacturer has the best grab bars and nerfs. We have a 2010 f250 and my wife likes those grab bars and the steps, does anyone know if I can use those on the 95? Not sure there is enough metal to tie them into.

Does anyone know if bucket seats from other generation Bronco's or F150's will work in the 95? Ours are a bit used and lean too far back.

I haven't had a Bronco in the stable for ten years, but the timing and price were perfect and I always feel more confident when I have a tried and true 4x4 ready to get it done! :)

Looking forward to getting back in the saddle.

Tried to post a picture, but not savy enough.:-(

Hey Stevll,

Welcome,

If I may suggest do a search for nerf and grab bars.  Just beware of the products made in China.  They seem to be synonymous with poor quality.

The bars you have on your F250 Could work...depends on if they were a "universal" fit originally, and if the hardware is adjustable enough for the Bronco.

Good Luck

yo Stevll,

WELCOME!

We have he Smittybuilt Nerf bars on our 96, but don't recommend them bec. of your wife's condition because they are tubular and one can slip off them.

They look like these by our sponsor

A running board is prob a better option.

Ensue that it will fit and clean and prime/paint all attachment brackets and hardware; should be frame mounted.

comments;

"It didn't work to well so I took them out and used some nylon nuts and made the holes square to fit them. They work great. My wife pulls on the handle all the time and it holds up just fine.

this is what the nut looks like

wanted to mount through the plastic but there was nothing behind it to support the handle. I didn't want to tighen the handle down on the plastic because it would crack it. There is enough room between the roof and that part of the metal. ...

Other Explorer grab handle Comments;

"...holds the weight pretty good for just 2 sheet metal screws. I put most of my body weight on it (i weigh bout 150) and it held good. Few of my buddies use it getting in and out and there bigger than me and it holds just fine...

put one in from a Bronco II using 1/4" thread u-nuts-- had to do a little extra drilling, but the mount is probably stronger than the actual handle this way. Mine gets yanked on all the time. I also put one on the front of my center console, which is kinda handy to grab onto when the truck is leaning 45 degrees. ...

Bucket Seats;

See my archived site @ http://web.archive.org/web/20110704104455/http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=312

read my signature for how to access CURRENT URL of each Link

Look for any seat that will tilt and fold fwd for rear seat access. Best bet is find a yard that has some folks with Brains that can measure you seats as well as frame and be able to match it uo to a later model year. Most seats seem to be in poorer condition my 96's as to frame and cushioning/fabric.

Thank you guys, I appreciate the information. My wife would be an unhappy camper if I took the runners off the 250, then she couldn't use it. (hmmm, could have something there :)
