Ok I got my truck back together and it starts great and it idles smooth and excelerates fine at low speeds but once you hit the highway and a hill it flatlines and you can gradually get up to the current speed. I changed the computer out a few years back and now that I think about it, My truck is an 92 bronco with a 5.8 and I pulled it off of an F150 5.8 but I don't think it was 4 wheel drive and I don't think it had an E4OD transmission in it. Could this have anything to due with the acceleration even though it looked like my old one which was bad.This is my last hurdle and I'll be happy. So if any one has any thoughts about this computer swap, let me know.

yo Rog,

Usually, if the wrong PCM is installed, the Bronco or other vehicles may run but probably will not run well. It must be the correct replacement for the application;

Esp. in your year range where the E4OD (I assume you have an E4OD),

MLPS and transfer case will not get the correct info from PCM to exercise the Solenoids. Here are 2 wiring diagram showing the controls;

http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=9237

Try to find a correct PCM using the Calibration Code (aka Catch Code) on driver's B or A pillar post

PCM%20Ford%20PN%20and%20Catch%20Code%20D1T4%20%20pic.jpg

this example D1T4 is the "catch code"; for probably a Taurus

and,

For a YARD SEARCH on-line, I use;

http://www.hollanderparts.com/

Select All Parts

year, etc, then FORD TRUCK https://www.hollanderparts.com/

Look under:

Electrical;

Engine-Motor Control Module;

Electronic Control Module;(

8-351 (5.8) Fed (or Calif) ID (select one) F3... etc.

Look @ 3rd column from Right;

89-95 E4OD Additions SD (Speed Density)

It will show such as;

Transfer Case 4 Low input

SS2 - shift Solenoid 2

MLPS - Manual Lever Position Sensor

OD Light

EPC - Electronic Pressure Control

OD switch on stalk

TOT - Transmission Oil Temperature

SS1 Shift Solenoid 1
