First, sorry about Caps! am having vision issues now and hunt & peck is the Norm for me.

REAL FAST AND SIMPLE CHECKS FIRST;

DOES HORN HONK AS USUAL, LOUD OR JUST A WHIMPER BEEP);

if NOT, CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE; OR GET A JUMP

SAME FOR HEADLIGHTS; ARE THEY bRIGHT AS USUAL? OR DIM?

Is IGN KEY CYLINDER LOOSE IN cOLUMN?

From the sound of it, you probably have a linkage problem between the key cylinder and the actual switch.  The actual switch is mounted on top of the steering column under the dash.  It is easy to check.  Put the key in the cylinder, position your self so you can see and feel the linkage rod on top of the column.  Turn the key to see if the rod moves.  If it does, you probably should do the switch adjustment, ( http://broncozone.com/topic/7243-ignition-switch-adjustment-proceedure/ ).  If it doesn't move then the problem is probably the linkage dog between the key cylinder and the switch push rod. That will take a little more work.  Let us know.

Good Luck,

:)>-
