When my grandfather passed away he left me his 1969 bronco that he had since day one. I live in the Spring area and am needing some help finding shops or people to help me get this rebuild started. I dont really have the space in my garage or the time to get it going. Not looking for an expensive renovation. At this point just wanting to do some ovrehauling to get it running and in good condition to drive. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the response. Yes I do have some work to do on my profile. It's a 1969 bronco, original 302, has P.T.O. I'll post some pics and dig more into the specs of it.

I live in the Houston, Texas area but will to travel abt 200 miles for some help or a shop. Even if I can't find help, also wanting to know if anybody has extra space in a shop or warehouse where me and my dad could work on with some space.

Hi Huey.., welcome..!!

First, what's the reason for a shop, a helper, lots of room, etc.?

Is it your intent to disassemble/rebuild this whole rig.?

Point being, these rigs are "old school" simple & easy to work on.

If you have "0" mechanic background, do some library/study work. Get a repair manual for EB's (early Bronco)

You'll be surprised how much you & your dad can do in a driveway or "under a tree"..!

Seems to me being mega miles away from your rig would be "GU" (geographically undesirable)

If you could be more specific as to your experience &  intentions, it would help us help you.

Hey PH, welcome.

It's great that you and your dad are working on this project together.

My advice...take lots of pics before you take things apart, during and after.  Also label everything, and try to keep bolts and hardware bagged and together with the part they are related to. .....and take a break every once and awhile.  If there is no pressure to get the Bronc back on the road don't rush and let stress dull the enjoyment.

Don't be afraid to ask questions here or with any knowledgeable contact. Most guys ...and girls...are happy to help out.

Lastly.... Enjoy the experience.  There will be memories you and your dad will have forever.

Good Luck

Huey, you got wrenches? You got sockets?  Can you read?  Do you have a desire to do the work?  If you answered yes to these questions, then don't be afraid!!!

Find your self a good parts store with people who know what they are talking about and a good shop manual and GO!!!  These rigs are not difficult, and they are FUN to work on.  Drain the gas tanks, inspect the brakes, and fire it up.  If it starts, take it for a quick drive and then decide what you want it to do....  If it has been sitting for quite a while; plugs, wires, points, tranny fluid, motor oil, differentials, transfer case should all be changed.

Take it from me, I did one in my garage and I LOVED every minute of it.  We will help you with any question you have and most of us are pretty quick....

It is REALLY fun when it is a car that has been in the family....  Jeff's Bronco graveyard and Tom's Bronco's have a great selection of parts to help you on your way...

Good luck!!  Take and post lot's of pictures of your adventure!!

Welcome PH! I don't have shop space, but can possibly offer some assistance, depending on time and what it is you want to do first? Does it run, move, etc or has it been sitting in a field? Just saw it doesn't run, but does it turns over, or does the motor need to be rebuilt.

I see you have gotten some good advice already. One of the mods sent me an email to see if I might be able to help and I just checked back in today, had to move the tool boxes from the last "real" job. It's all fun and games till you have to move that sucker!

My schedule gets a bit more busy during March and April with the Houston Rodeo and NHRA and such, as I do freelance photography and will be covering these events on a few weekends and such. Plus starting a new real job, but don't have to move the tools this time!! Currently in the Tomball area
