yo H,

WELCOME!

Your new PMGR Starter can run-on for approximately 2 seconds because you may have failed to remove the Bus Bar (seen below) or you jumped the large Starter Solenoid Main Post to the small Solenoid Start Post to eliminate the need for a separate 12v Start Wire. Jumping the Starter Main to the Start Signal on the Starter Solenoid can cause starter run-on after the start switch is off due to the remaining spinning starter motor energy generating mechanical voltage until it completely stops.

When the Starter Relay opens, there is no BATTERY power going to the starter, but the voltage generated by the spinning starter motor is what is keeping the new PMGR Starter Mounted Solenoid from de-energizing quickly to retract the gear from the flywheel.

Run a jumper wire from the small terminal on the starter solenoid up so you can put a test light from it to ground, and watch it while turning the key. The light should ONLY be on when the key is fully forward in START.

If it goes off, but the starter runs on, the starter is sticking (possibly because it's bad.

If it stays on, move it to the starter relay's small terminal & repeat. If it goes off, the starter relay is sticking. If it stays on the ignition switch is sticking.

yo,

Here is your 95 5.8 Wiring Diagram; same as by Ford;

http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=2034

Pull the Small Red/Lt Blue wire off of the starter relay on passenger side fender liner.

With Key and Engine off; should Not have battery voltage there (12 to about 115 volts DC)

If you have batty voltage there, then Ignition Switch needs to be tested;

Ignition Switch Logic Tables in 80-96
