Hey Everyone;

I'm finally at the point where I'll be starting the final assembly of my 1986 Bronco Restoration project.  I was doing some searching for a replacement dashboard and got immediately confused.  Looks like there are lots of places to buy a cheap dashboard overlay that supposedly installs over the top of your existing dashboard but mine was trashed so I threw it out during the deconstruction phase.  I want to get a complete new one but now I am struggling to not only find one but to really understand what I am getting when ordering on-line.  I need the real thing and not a cover shell.

Anyone have a source where I can get a new dashboard and not the overlay?  Maybe I am not understanding the terminology used by the retailers.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

yo Skeef,

What color?

Also, what web sites have you gone through so far to save us time in scrolling though a lot of sites and pages?

For a YARD SEARCH on-line, I use;

http://www.hollanderparts.com/

Search

1986

Ford Truck

Bronco (or F10, etc.)

Interior

Use their "Seller" search for a local yard @ http://www.hollanderparts.com/SellerDirectory

A local yard that is on the Hollander Network can search for the dash in other yards on the network. Our local yard has had a few parts shipped in at a reasonable cost for us and no charge if part was not correct or bad.

I believe you can ask them to look for 1980-86 Ford Bronco or F100, F150, F250, F350, etc. dont't know if Econoline dash is same, but they can look up internge on their network.

Hey Skeef,

Good luck with the dash search.

One thing I found when doing a restoration...NEVER throw ANYTHING out!

Drives my wife crazy, but saves me from searching for parts that aren't made anymore....and label everything too.

post pic for us to see.

Good luck

Thanks guys.

The old dash literally fell apart when I took it out so it was never going to go back in the car.  Guess the junk yard is the best place for a replacement.

I appreciate your time and help!

FYI...it drove my wife crazy too so I got unmarried and solved that problem!  Now I can keep anything I like without any issues!

Good Luck and Happy Holidays to you skeef. My wife has been with me for 30yrs...says she isn't going anywhere, ( except for where she want me to take her...lol)  She is my best resource for finding lost parts....so I'll keep her too.
