Hi! I'm Will. I'm new here... But anyway. Last month I suddenly fell in love with the early broncos and put my Lincoln Mark vii up for sale. It's been hard for me to find one that I actually want and can afford but I came across this. Let me know what you think

http://rapidcity.craigslist.org/cto/4633264285.html

Needs floor pans and has no brakes but runs on rebuilt motor.

Also it doesn't have the rear bench. If it wasn't ordered with one is it difficult or complicated to add one? If so I don't want it.

Thank you!

Hi Will, welcome..!!

Floor pans are fixable.., brakes can be brought up to spec., simple to add a rear bench seat.  The holes are already there.

Looks like a good buy. Lots of work to be done but it will be worth it.

You'll have lots of questions later on.  We'll be here..!

B

OOPS..!  says posted 7 yrs. ago...?  is it still available..?

Of course, last question... With the rear bench, is it also simple to add seat belts? Does it have holes for that as well?

Yes.., seat belts attach points are there. However, if the factory threaded holes weren't plugged, one would need a quality tap to go down thru & clean up the threads.  (In some cases with rigs from the dry So. West.., the threads are in perfect shape)

Same goes for the seat attach holes as well.

Thank you Bob! I'll keep everyone updated. This may become our project haha. I know little about these things. Like I said I discovered a random interest for them just a month ago.

Haha oh yeah I know. The first week I drove myself crazy trying to find one in my price range that wasn't complete shit. I often sad at one point because I figured it was a lost cause.

Slow.... Stripped the body and painted, new floor pans in front, all new brake system, all new fuel system, rebuilt carb, built roll cage, redid upholstery. Just finished rebuilding the transfer case. Make it safe before you make it pretty!!! These are a blast!!!!

Update, I'm looking at two other vehicles right now as well... I can't get home soon enough. I'm worried none of them will be available.

For the broncos, I'd prefer one with a manual, upgrade to a 5 speed, but the one with the auto seems to be in better condition... But it also isn't in my immediate area. Love the Lincoln. One of my dream cars but wouldn't be as fun as the bronco.

A few more days here...

Nice! For the floor pans, did you have to weld? Idk how that works lol. And yeah I definitely plan on focusing on the mechanics before I try to pretty it up. Thanks for the advice.
