There is no simple answer. It depends on what item the switch will be activating. Some things require relays, some do not. There is the size or guage of wire to consider, as well as other variables. I suggest you surf the net for some wiring basics, and maybe a trip to the library for a book or 2 to learn some basic theory and the language.

If you don't know at least the basics, it probably isn't a good idea to be wiring anything. Too many bad things can occur.

Lights usually need relays to provide a higher amperage to the lamps. a switch is used to activate or "close" the relay.

The wiring to the lamps is a thicker wire, ( lower guage), than what is used for the switch to the relay.

Use the directions that came with the lights. If you don't have them you may be able to get them online from the manufacturer.

if that still doesn't work, tell us exactly what you have and what you want to do, and we can get you more specific directions.

its cuase im putting a new wiring harness in the bronco with less circuits to reduce the wiring since i want to make it like for offroad racing only. Like just put it up on a ramp and tow it. I was thinking of puting like an after market switch pannel to make it look more nice and pro. I also need help with the wiring harness

Hey Joe,

Get get your hands on some manuals, as I said above. What you want to do will be alot easier if you get some knowledge of your basic wiring. If wired incorrect there can be all sorts of headaches, not the least is a fire and the incineration of your truck, ( whether it's towed or not.)

Maybe get in touch with a local trade school or high school or community college that offers auto tech courses, ask them if they could use your rig as a learning tool, maybe let you stay for some instruction.

It is almost impossible to be directed on a forum to assist you in what you want to do without risking a serious problem. ( I have witnessed more than 1 bad wiring "carbeque").

You need to do some homework....just wanting to know is not going to make it so.
