The 92-96 models dont need this mod. The late models have the two cyclinders on the same mount so flex is not an issue. The problem with your is behind the right bolt in the picture. Chances are good that the bushing is worn and the mount is oblonging. Remove the bolt and pry the arm off and you can check. Take note to this arms location as it is on a splined shaft so take a measurement. This causes that side of the assembly to twist slightly popping the rod loose.
