Where does the license plate wiring exit the tailgate on my 76 bronco? Is there a hole somewhere?

the wiring exits beside the light, down through the bracket and enters the tailgate again on the angled top side bottom of gate and then directly through bottom. (should be a hole on bottom round side of tailgate)

Since there is no hole at the bottom of the tail gate, my guess is that a previous owner filled the hole. The location you suggest makes sense since I located a cut wire (hot too with lights on) centered under the license plate underneath and in front of the bumper. Thanks
