my blower motor works but after it has ran awhile it starts squelling. sounds like metal to metal. i dont have the time or money to replace it now so i was wandering if anyone knew a way to spray wd 40 on it w/o taking the dash apart to access it ? it is a 78 with hi lo heater and a/c.

You have to get to the either end of the motor to properly lubricate it. I would suggest some "zoom spout" lube as it is made for that kind of motor.

I'd use a spray can of white lithium grease instead of WD40. The WD won't keep it lubricated for very long. Anything you spray into it will only be a quick fix anyways. Sounds like the shaft bearing is shot & once the fan heats up it's letting you know that the bearing is going south. Probably won't be too much longer before it just packs it in and siezes. Lubricating it might get you thru until the weather warms up but I'd start considering a new blower motor. you can find the relevant sections of the factory manual pinned at the very top of the page.
