I think I may have busted my Detroit Locker. I didn't think this was possible (I'm only running 33's). I knew I broke the rear u-joint, putting the final nail in the coffin of the factory driveshaft. But when I jacked the rear end up, one tire spun by hand while the other was touching the ground. I could hear a slight ratcheting sound. (I used to be able to change a tire without holding it from spinning as long as the other was still on the ground.)
I haven't taken the third member out yet, but I was curious as to what normally breaks on a Detroit. I thought these were supposed to be bulletproof? Is it fixable, or will I need a whole new unit?

Well, I've pulled the third member out. I cannot find any broken pieces to indicate a bad locker. I just now found Detroit's test procedure online. http://www.eaton.com...128312.pdf(wish I'd thought to look for that BEFORE I pulled the 3rd member, oh well, I found bad wheel bearings).
Is there anything I can look for while the third member is out?
