I've got a 1971 EB that will no longer hold 2nd gear. It leaks too. I can't seem to find anything that ID's it. The kits to rebuild it are for one or the other. The bronco Graveyard's kit info says the RAT is a longer case. Does anyone know what length that is? Also does anyone know where to get new shift forks for either of these?

"I can't seem to find anything that ID's it."
The ID tag is on the pass. side of the trannie (on a flat spot) (usually pretty dirty area)

"Does anyone know what length that is?"
You didn't say what eng...?? The T-case adaptors are diff. lengths.
RAT/RAN transmissions are on the V/8 --- HEF transmission is on the I-6
RAT T-case adaptor is 8 7/8"---RAN T-case adaptor is 9 3/8"---I-6 adaptor is 6 1/2"

"Also does anyone know where to get new shift forks for either of these?"
Tom's Bronco parts.com in Oregon is close to you. They have everything you need.

Wild Horses is on the left coast as well....both have trannie exchange programs.
